I'm searching for more info about Benjamin Allen b. abt. 1763 in Fairfield, son of Ebenezer, Jr. and Sarah (Allen) Allen. According to one researcher, he m1 to Sarah in Weston Cong. Church. No date. She died dec. 9, 1788.He m2 May 19, 1791 in Weston to Ruhamah Bulkley, dau. of Talcott Bulkley and Esther Bradley. Children listed for Benjamin and Ruhamah are:Huldah bpt. 9-18-1791, no further info; Unknown Allen, male child, bpt. 10-5-1794 at Weston Church; Ruhamah Allen bpt. 1-31-1798 at Weston Church; Eunice Allen bpt. 1-31-1798; Bradley Allen bpt. 6-18-1800 at Weston Church; Harriet Allen b. Jan. 21, 1804, Saugatuck, Fairfield Co., CT. Bradley Allen must be the one who shows up on the 1830-40-50-60 census of Elba, Genesee Co., NY.He is gone by 1880, but children are living in the area. On the 1830 census, Bradley is listed next to Morris and Huldah (Allen) Baker. This Huldah was b. 1808 in NY.Also next to Sackett families. These Sackett families are important because on the 1820 census is listed Talcott Allen, next to Joseph Sackett, next to Elisha Pomeroy, next to Truman Colburn. Talcott's wife, Lucy Rice was dau. of Lucy (Warner) (Rice) Pomeroy, wife of Elisha, and sister to Jerusah Rice, wife of Truman Colburn.Talcott B. Allen d. in 1824, and Lucy, his widow later married Joseph Sackett. On Talcott's gravestone in Pinehill Cem. in Elba, Genesee Co., NY, it states he died in Feb. 1824, in his 35 year. This would make him born 1789/90.I believe his middle name is probably Bulkley, and he was named after his mother Ruhamah's father, Talcott Bulkley. But, this is only circumstantially proposed. My quandary is that Talcott B. Allen was b. before his parent's marriage in 1791.It might be noted that his parents married only 5 mos. before their dau. Huldah was b.Evidently, there isn't a birth record for Talcott in the Fairfield area.He was born comfortably after the death of Benjamin's first wife. The research I have for Benjamin says he died in 1843 in Cherry Valley, Otsego Co., NY.I have also seen 1827 listed as his death date. Does anyone know of any type of records that may be searched in that area of Fairfield Co. for evidence of Talcott B. Allen being the son of Benjamin Allen?
