On a whim I decided to compare the 25 Henry Allen's of New York State with the 6 David Paddocks in the USA - thankfully via computer and using 2 browser windows it made it easy. When I noted David Paddock in Minisink, Orange Co., NY pg. 245 this did catch my attention as from death record information gives Elizabeth's birth place as Orange Co., NY - comparing and finding on the previous page the only Henry Allen's in Orange Co. pg. 244. Henry J. Allen 1 male b. 1800-18101 female b. 1800-1810. 1 male child under 5 (b. 1825-1830) This would agree with my Henry J(ohn?) Allen, as most likely his wife Elizabeth (Paddock) Allen (b. 1808) would be pregnant with their next child Lydia. In the next dwelling is: Henry Allen 1 male b. 1750-17601 female b. 1770-1780 2 males b. 1815-18201 female b. 1820-1825
My question is - does anyone have any information on any Henry Allen's of Minisink area of Orange Co., NY.I would guess there is a 50/50 chance that the elder Henry may have served in the Rev. War.Any help on this Henry Allen would be extremely helpful.Perhaps some of this family also made its way into Western NY around Steuben, Livingston, Schuyler, Chemung Co.or North West PA (Potter or Tioga Co., PA) area.
