George W. ALLEN; b. abt. 1820, d. 1895 m. 1844 BATES

Looking for descendants of John A. ALLEN and Elizabeth BLACK.Their son, George Washington ALLEN, was a brother of my Samuel ALLEN.

George was a Corporal in the 72nd IN Inf., Co. A, during the American Civil War.He married Elizabeth BATES (1826-1899) and they had nine (9) children, one being William Henry ALLEN, (1851-1927), who married Margaret SLAYBAUGH. (William and "Maggie" had, at least, seven (7) children, one being Fred (1889-1957) and a set of twins in 1897).

They may have lived in Butler Co., Ohio and were found in the 1850 Census for Carrollton Twp., Carroll Co., Indiana.

I would love to fill in the blanks of this family.
