I found a posting which differs with my supposition:
Submit Allen is believed to be a Pequot Indian per discussion between Pamela Purvis and Alexander Ott found on the Message Boards. That would be interesting, because William 1 Comstock , the original Comstock settler, in 1647, was in a band of 26 men sent from Wethersfield, CT by Capt. John Mason to raid the Peqout fort in Mystic, CT. They killed 500 Pequot Indians, and Wm. received a land grant in Pequot, CT. I guess that means one of Submit's parent's ancestors was lucky enough to have lived, and their daughter ended up marrying a descendant of the man who may have caused their tribe's ruin.
