Diona I can't remember if I ever replied to you or not, so if I didn't I'm sorry.Which child of Evie do you descend from?I have the names of all the children of Robert Smith Parker and Cynthia Eveline "Evie" Allen.Five of them I don't have children for. The five are Alonza, Andrew, Marion Walter, Earl and Dollie. The others I have children for.
I believe that R. S. Parker went by his middle name SMITH,at least around family, as my great grandfather Columbus H. Allen named him as SMITH PARKER in his will,as an executor.
If we haven't shared info. I will be glad to send you my Allen file. And if you descend from Hiram and Cynthia, and if I'm correct and Cynthia was a Wofford, then you will also connect through the Woffords.I already do, through my gg grandmother Sara Ann Wofford who married Isaac Manley Ford.On their marriage application, the issuer spelled her last name as "Warford".Thank goodness, the family knew how to spell the name or I would have been looking for a "Warford" connection...I know that it is "Wofford" as right down to my generation, several males in the family have "Wofford" as their middle name.
Right now, I'm working on our CYNTHIA/SYNTHA WAFFORD/WOFFORD COOLEY ALLEN.I'm still sure that she had to be a WOFFORD.There are three WOFFORD families in Jackson Co. Ga in 1830.
SOLOMON WOFFORD, b. 1795 Spartanburg, SC, (son of Absalom)
ABSALOM WOFFORD b. 1752 Old 96th District, South Carolina,
MARY WOFFORD, Mary is probably a widow of one of ABSALOM WOFFORD'S sons.
From that, I would say that either SOLOMON WOFFORD, or MARY WOFFORD would be CYNTHIA WOFFORD'S parent.I know that she isn't Absalom's daughter.
It's pretty certain that CYNTHIA'S first husband WESLEY COOLEY is connected to the SPARTANBURG SC, COOLEYS.So far, I haven't been able to find out who his father was, but I believe that he is connected somehow to THOMAS COOLEY.
HIRAM ALLEN'S son ISOM B. ALLEN also married a MARTHA WAFFORD/WOFFORD.Again, I believe that she was a WOFFORD, and descends from ABSALOM WOFFORD and his wife HANNAH WOFFORD (who was his first cousin). ABSALOM and HANNAH had 12 children, 0f which 9 were sons.
If I'm correct, then the Woffords, Cooleys and possibly the Allens all came out of Spartanburg SC.I know that HIRAM ALLEN was born in South Carolina, just don't know where yet.I believe that he is one of the HIRAM ALLENS on the 1830 Union Co. SC census.
And as I have found out so many other times in my research, there is usually another marriage connection betweenfamilies back wherever they came from.So if we can find another ALLEN-WOFFORD OR ALLEN-COOLEY or COOLEY-WOFFORD connections it may answer some more questions.
I hope I haven't totally confused you.If you have any other suggestions please let me know, and if we haven't shared files, I will be glad to share with you.
