I just posted an newspaper article reporting that Morgan, a slave belonging to A. A. ALLEN, had confessed and would be hung for the crime of burning the North Carolina hospital. I'm not sure exactly whether Morgan (or his owner) lived in Petersburg, VA, where he was to be hung, or in North Carolina. This occurred during the Civil War, which may have had something to do with the jurisdiction, but that's just a guess on my part.
