William B. Allen - b. 1828 GA age 52 Farmer - parents b. GA
wife: Martha A. Allen b. 1843 age 37 b. MO father b. NC, mother b. TN
son:Ds J Allen (could be Dennis,Dickson,etc) b. 1864 TX age 16
Daniel C. Allen (female) "sister" b. 1866 TXage 14 (can't tell if the census taker was talking to Ds J and he said sister or what - but this doesn't make sense - could it be Danielle? or other form?)
Barbara L.E. Allen (could be Barbara Lee?)b. 1871 TX age 9
Anna B. Allen b. 1875 age 5 b. TX
and James W. Powell - b. 1852 TX - not family - laborer
the location:District E.D. 9, Bowque, TX
So if his wife Martha A.Allen is really Martha Ann Blue then she was stated as born in MO, but that could be an error. However, in the same : District E.D. 9, Bosque TX we find a Peter Blue listed with kids - could be kin to Martha (Blue) Allen?
Also listed was Jack Y. Allen b. 1820 GA age 60 raising sheep - parents B. GA wife Martha b. 1825 no state given - age 55
Jack Y Allen could be Wm. B. Allen's father? Worth checking out - could also be no kin, or even an Uncle or Cousin -
Looks like the best thing to check would be the land grants for GA for the surname Allen - the Cherokees ceded land and my own Bakers got land west of what is now Atlanta - in 1827 - there are web sites for the Land Grants - maybe an Allen will turn up - and then go from there - Especially since William B. was born 1828 - and his parents according to the 1880 census were born GA -
Hope this helps...this is not my family - but I love researching Allens - my own family of Allens went from CT>VT>WI>IO>GA>FL - now that is some traveling, eh!
