replying to questions about Wilson Laxton Allen, son of Ananias Allen and Elizabeth Laxton:
an apparent DAR sheet placed in our local Caldwell Co, NC library :
Wilson Laxton Allen b. 26 Aug 1802 Burke County, NC married Sarah Campbell (b. 6 Feb 1827 - died 12 Oct 1860) does not give death date for Wilson Laxton Allen, but says the information came from "tombstone" - also does not say the location of the "tombstone"
lists other marriages: 29 Oct 1833 to Elizabeth Nicholas
but the document is not clear if she married Wilson Laxton Allen or Ananias Allen or some other Allen on the page...
On another sheet in the same file:
William Laxton Allen b. 26 Aug 1802 NC married 6 Feb 1827 died 12 Oct 1860 AL
married Sarah Campbell b. 7 Jan 1804 KY died 22 Dec 1868 AL
parents of Sarah Campbell: William Campbell b. 14 Feb 1759 VA married 9 MAR 1782 DIED 15 mAR 1814 ky MARRIED : Jane Dean b. 8 Dec 1760 VA d. ? 1857 AL?
Some documents seem to indicate that Ananias A. Allen b. 29 Dec 1827 KY or AL and died Dec 1864 Civil War was son of Wilson Laxton Allen - A.A.Allen married Nancy Ann Matthews (b @ 1826 AL died before 1910 prob AL) they were married @ 1843.
a daughter of A.A. Allen and Nancy Ann: Sasrah Elizabeth Allen b. 7 Feb 1844 AL married 6 Sep 1866 died 25 Nov 1925 (looks like married Rash , AL?) married John Franklin Owens (Confederate States of America soldier)
Hope this is not too confusing, and is helpful. I will hold onto the sheets (apparently application for DAr) if anyone has other questions.
This is not my line, but I live in Caldwell Co, NC.
