I'm not from North Carolina so I'm not familiar with the locality of the various counties, however, I've traced my "Allen" ancestry to Catawba country, North Carolina. My great, great, great grandfather was Reuban Allen born in 1772, one of his children, my great, great grandfather was Henry Allen (He and two of his brothers were Confederates in the Civil War. His brothers were killed at Gettysburg and he died 3 days later from wounds he sustained at Gettysburg. He married Rachael El Vira Edwards and they had three sons. After Henry died she was on the U.S. Census living on Indian Land with the three bous, Joseph H. Allen, Waymouth Allen and my great grandfather John Webster Allen.
Reuban Allen had 13 or 14 children. My father has just sent me a CD with the names of all of his children on it. I haven't had time to look at it yet, but if I find the name you are looking for: I'll e-mail you again. If not perhaps the names I've given you will help you. Sincerely< Kathryne
