One of the unnown daughters of Benjamin and Frances Allen was Eleanor who was born about 1824 and married James H. Pass in 1844. The Passes moved to Rhea County, TN in 1849 or 1850 and I suspect that was also when Benjamin and Frances moved. The two families are listed next to each other in the 1850 census. Rhea and Meigs were still relatively new counties then, there was still farm land to be had, and the economy was robust.
James' and Eleanor's daughter, Florence Elizabeth Pass, married John Henry Blevins in Rhea in 1880. They moved to Delta County, TX sometime during 1897-1899. There they joined several related Blevins and Darwin families who had moved from Rhea to Delta by waggon train in 1873 -- a time when cotton was pretty much played out in Rhea and the local economy was depressed. Delta was the cotton capital of world then and much of its production went to London and Paris and Moscow to be use to make cloth for clothing for the royal and the rich.
Florence died in 1915 and John Henry and two of his sons removed to Memphis in Hall County, TX. The Blevins farm in Hall is still run by the family.
