Tim, looking at the 1880 US Census (LDS/Family Search - free site):
Lois B. Allen b. 1832 MA age 48 occupation: boarding
household: Jacob Allen - husband b. 1830 ME (this is not what you have) age 50 carpenter father b. MA, mother b. ME
no other person in household
location: Green Lake, Green Lake Co., WI
HENY (not Henry) Allen (probably a mistake spelling) b. 1853 MA age 27 carpenter father b. ME, mother b. MA
household: Katie Allen b. 1855 NY age 25 - wife father b. IRE, mother b. NY
also in household: daughter : ERNA ALLEN b. 1879 age 1 b. WI
His is probably the family you are looking for, but note the birth date of Jacob Allen in the census is 1830... maybe that will help you find out more about him. There was a US Census in 1830, but also 1840 - so he may be in one or both of those in MAINE.
the census also says his father was born in Massachusetts, so you may want to check some of the MA census records, but looks like his father's family moved to Maine - where he met his wife - 1880 census shows Jacob Allen's mother as born in Maine.
Since you know the maiden name of Jacob's wife: Lois B. would probably beBrigham - look for that family too in the Maine census records - as Jacob and Lois evidently /probably married in Maine and not MA.
Hope all this helps - if you are still looking....
This is not my family, but others have helped me a lot.
