Reviewing my notes on some of the people you've mentioned makes me think we need to spend more time on the WALLERs in SC.
I have several indications of an early association with them in SC and VA.
I also think we need to look at ALLENs in the Barnwell Dist SC or Edgefield Co SC areas.
I still think the ALEWINEs in the area of Greenville Co SC and Newberry Co SC are of interest concerning my GILREATHs and ALLENs.
I note that there was a Hannibal ALEWINE living with a COUNTS family in the 1880 SC census in the area of HELLERs Creek in Newberry.
I have noted that William GILREATH was in that area in the 1790's; and, one Joseph ALEWINE witnessed the 1885 will of John Henley GILREATH in Greenville Co SC.
John Henley GILREATH married the daughter of Caroline ALLEN--granddaughter of Charles and Sarah ALLEN.(This Charles ALLEN has been reported as a brother of George ALLEN (d 1803 Greenville Dist SC); however, I have not been able to reproduce or back that up with documentation as of yet.I think it's been verified by others; but, I just haven't been able to find that information.)
