I am not aware of this group of Butler's in Arkansas, but it is possible.
The following was found by Marilyn Woodfin who shared it with me: 1790 South Carolina, Pendleton District Lee Allen1 male16 & up3females
1800 South Carolina, Pendleton District Lee Allen2 males (under 10)1 male(26-44) 3 females (under 10)1 female (10-15) 1 female (26-44)
1810 Kentucky, Warren County Lee Allin3 males (under 10)1 male (10-15)1male(26-44) 1female (under 10)1 female (10-15)1 female (16-25)1 female (26-44)
1820 Kentucky, Allen County Lee Allen3 males ( under 10)1 male (16-25)1 male (45 up) 2 females (under 10)1 female (45 up)
1830 Vanderburgh County Indiana-Dixon Allen next to Vanderburgh County is Posey County
1830 Indiana, Posey County, Smith township Lee Allen1 male50-59 1 female60-69 Aory Allen (on the actual census it looks like Avory) So I think this is Avery Allen 1 male (under 5)1 male (5-10)1 male (20-30) 1 female(under 5)1 female (5-10)1 female (20-30)
1840 Posey County Indiana census, township of Smith Avery Allen
1840 Warren County Kentucky- Dickson Allen and Lee Allen
1850 Hunt County Texas-Dixon Allen
I think that Dixon and Sarah came back to Warren County before she died in 1831 along with Dixon's father, Lee. Dixon remarried after Sarah died.
On the 1790 and 1800 South Carolina census along with Lee Allen there is a Gershom Allen, whom I believe is Lee's father. I found on Rootsweb World Connect where he is indeed his father. Check out : Gislem Gersham Allen Gislem Gershom Allen Lee Allen's birth was given as 28 Mar 1761.
One other interesting thing is that my GGrandfather was Lee Allen, son of Beauford Allen, grandson of Lee Allen. I know we still have the Nov. 1845 disposition in Warren County, Kentucky problem with Dixon being in Hunt Co. Texas but I still think it could be possible.
[End of information from Marilyn.]
I am not sure if the Dixon Allen in Texas is our Dickson Allen. We have a documented disposition from Warren County, Kentucky in November of 1845 which would confict with information that Marilyn has that puts her Dixon Allen in Hunt County Texas prior to that date.
It is frustrating to say the least.Hopefully all together we can find the right piece of information that will tie everything together for us.
I do not have the names of the children.I only know they lived with their grandparents James and Charity Lowe Butler for a while following the death of their mother during the birth of her third child.
