Hi William while looking over some of your posts, I ran across one of great interest, the one about the lady in the iron lung.My youngest brother,Gene, came down with polio when he was 9, he died at the age of 37.He was still in an iron lung when he died.He could stay out of it in the daytime, but not at night when he went to sleep or if he was sick....
Now to the other reason...with the last name Cooley, and you listing in the Allen forum definitely caught my attention.
My gg grandmother Cynthia Wofford/Warford/Wafford (I go with Wofford as there were a bunch of them in Jackson Co. GA and I don't find any of the other names there) married first to Westley M. Cooley, and had two children, Thomas F. Cooley who was married to Mary and know of one child, a female, with the intials C. T. (or F.).Cannot find them after 1860 when they lived in Floyd Co. GA.
The second child was Doleska Cooley who married Isom B. Allen, the son of Hiram Allen and Unknown.Hiram was born in SC. Doleska and Isom lived in Jackson Co. GA. Isom married first to Martha Wofford/Warford/Wafford. (She may be a sister or first cousin to Cynthia)
Hiram Allen married second to Cynthia Wofford Cooley, and they had 7 more children. They moved from Jackson Co. GA to Floyd Co. GA finally to Talladega Co. AL where they lived until their deaths.
Now to the big question do you know if your Cooleys were ever in the south? And if so, do you know if there is any connection to your Cooley and "my" Cooleys?
