Does anyone know how Francis Andrews, provost of Trinity College Dublin until his death in 1771, might have been connected to a gentry family of Allens, who were in later years of Lisconnan, Dervock? Andrews seems to have had lands in that area, and had some connection, whether or not through family links. I'm reseraching Andrews, rather than Allens, but I'd be interested to know more about these Allens' business and other circumstances. They seem to have been originally of Larne, co. Antrim, may have been brewers or distillers there, and had connections also in Springmount near Ballymena, before buying an estate near Dervock. I am wondering if they inherited from Andrews?
