Thanks for responding. The cemetery has been somewhat cleaned, and I was able to locate and photograph Bovell's stone. It is in very good shape. In researching the cemetery, I did come across an item in the Hillsboro Mirror newspaper from the Itasca community on 6-15-1892."The killing of Mr. R.L. Allen by the officers while trying to arrest him on Tuesday afternoon, June 7th, was a sad affair.Allen leaves a wife and one child. So much for whiskey."Although the initial is a B instead of an R, and the date is off by one day, I felt this was possibly Bovell.Newspapers at that time were notoriously inaccurate.I appreciate having this information, as I was never able to find out anything about this man. There is also another Allen headstone, "Carrie S. Allen, 3-10-1885 to 7-8-1902."Didn't know if this was related or not.
