The Allen boys from North Carolina,

Not from Maine or South Carolina;
Zachariah died in 1790,
Left a will that wasn’t tiny.
Who was their mother, I wish it so,
Was it Lavinia or Mary, the Quakers know!
From George to John they all grew,
Some went to Indiana, remained a few.
From Lawrence County to near Monroe,
They planted their seeds to be sowed.
There’s was James, and there was John,
There was Joseph not to be undone;
And there was William and Robert, I do say
All were farmers in those days.
Each Allen brothers left their mark,
Like igniting a fire with a spark.
They multipled to many as you can see,
And left an everlasting legacy
