Thanks for your reply.You have no reason to be aware of the Kindrick connection of which I speak; but here’s what I make of your replies to which I’ve added from that connection (see below)

I search for the parents of Philip Henry Thornton b. 1813-4, Pittsylvania Co VA, 1863-4; d.1863-4 Tallahatchie Co. MS, my g'g'father.
In the Old Pinehill-Bailey-Thornton cemetery in Tallahatchie Co MS, located on Philip Henry Thornton's former lands are, (among a few others including my man's in-laws -"Bailey") the graves of: Abraham Allen, Jr./12-18-1787/09-19-1845 with wyf, Elizabeth (I think Kendrick m. 1814 Maury Co., TN,)/01-30-1793/11-01-1845
Olsimus Kendrick, /02-19-1780/08-25-1845 with wyf Elizabeth Barton Kendrick, /12-26-1784/10-24-1845 and their son William Barton Kendrick, /11-27-1808/03-25-1845
Paulina Kendrick Gattis, /ca 1810/died 1850 and husband Samuel Gattis, Jr./No Date
Olsimus Kendrick to be the g'son of Wm and Sarah Kendrick through their son Jones Kendrick;
Abraham Allen, Jr. had a sister Margaret Allen bca 1780 either in Orange Co. NC or Robertson Co TN d 1855 Yalobusha Co MS who married Samuel Gattis. (Looks like their son Samuel Jr married a daughter or niece of Olisimus Kendrick.)
With all the kin of Wm & Sarah Kendrick buried in the Philip Henry Thornton's cemetery, and his being born in Pittslyvania Co VA across the line from Warren (Bute) Co NC, he has got to be kin to Wm & Sarah's gr’son Benjamin Thornton, named in both Wm and Sarah's Wills.
I'd appreciate your thoughts and any insights! Regards, /s/ HR Haywood Ruffin Thornton, Jr.
