I have a Thomas Allen, I believe born about 1750, married a Winifred Armour 1778, Pasquotank Co., NC (the Armours were of Pasquotank -- don't know if he was). As an adult, the record show him in Surry Co., NC. He was a Revolutionary War vet.
I don't know if he belongs in this family somewhere. I believe that his father might have also been a Thomas, who was in the militia company under Capt. John Woodhouse, 1758, Tyrell Co. I've also found a Elizabeth Allen in Pasquotank Co. as head of house in the 1754 North Carolina early census list. If Elizabeth, a widow, was his mother, then Thomas couldn't have been his father. As I have found no birth records of Thomas, he might have actually been older when he married Winefred, and the militia member MIGHT have been him. Men did marry later in years. Per the 1790 census records, he had it looks like 6 or 8 children living with him, and he was still living in 1800. After that it is sketchy.
Have you found this Thomas in and around your family?
