Did my post get scrambled? The conjecture is that your Robert Sr. (ie, the father-in-law of June Turk) is the son of *James*, that that *James* is the brother of the Robert who married Deborah Montgomery. It is known that Robert's brother James had children who accompanied Robert to America (one of these children was the famous Kentucky settler James Allen who died 4 Jan 1811 in Danville, KY.)
> There is no connection that I know of with the Allens > who went to Shelby Co., KY that I understand > were descendants of Robert Allen who married > Deborah Montgomery.
June Turk's husband had a brother John Allen several of whose grandchildren show birth in Shelby Co., Kentucky, right?Obviously that doesn't prove a connection -- we're exploring a hypothesis.
Do you have any details on exactly when your Allen ancestors immigrated to America?Your cousin Steve recently e-mailed me, citing a 1736 date, which seemed "exciting".But of course that date may be based wrongly on the old confusion between these two families.
