Searching for anyone who might know the family of our Allen surname.Martha Jane Pipkin age 16 married a Richard S. Allen in 1851 in Marshall County Mississippi. In the summer of 1851 he bought a team of horses and wagon, records on file; all using the middle initial, and went with Martha Jane's, Pipkin family to Prairie County, Arkansas. They had two sons, James Henry assumed named after the Allen family and Aser Columbus named after Grandpa Pipkin who was Aser Columbus Pipkin, the oldest was born in 1852 and the youngest in 1854. Martha Jane and her mother died in 1857 and a great aunt said Richard was bushwacked and killed in Prairie County near his home..before 1860. Grandpa Pipkin and his second wife raised the Allen boys with their families. The same great aunt said the Allen family came from Va. and in early census records James Henry and Aser say their father was born in VA.James Henry named his oldest son Sam.Maybe for the S. in Richard's middle name. Also we know that Martha Jane's grandparents were Richard and Sally Foster, from Maury County, Tenn The two Allen boys married Hodge sisters in Ark. and left in the late 70's for Ellis County Texas. We have done a lot of research but cannot find the ancestory of our Allen name.Any information would be appreciated.Thanks.
