On the 1910 census for Philadelphia, I found that William Joseph Haverty was working at Philadelphia City Hospital as a messenger and that the "Head" was Frank F. Allen and his wife Georgia E. Allen. This same year, Aloysius Haverty, the brother of William Joseph, was attending St. Francis Industrial school which was a Catholic school for orphans. Do any of you know this Frank F. Allen? I have searched for over 5 years to find my friend's grandfather ( William Joseph Haverty's dad) and there are absolutely no records before 1910 ANYWHERE. St. Francis Industrail is no longer in business and the Catholic Church keeps sending me from one office to another.I finally decided to ask members of the Allen family to see if anyone knows about their work and may be able to help me locate some records. Myabe it was a charitable hospital and William Joseph was allowed to work there for his board. I need to know what happened to his parents and who they were and can only hope that some member of the Allen family reads this and can direct me to what I need. Please help me if you can.
