I'm looking for any marriages between Allens,Chandlers, Camp,& Melton in the above states. One of my direct lines was Allen, another of my direct lines was Chandler.Camps married into one of my Wofford line, one of my Wofford lines married an Allen, whose dtr married a Ford, whose son married a Payton whose mother was a Chandler.Confused?Think about me!
One of my cousins so many times removed was Jessie Allen Champion Melton.
I just found out that a Champion Allen was the father of two sons who married into my Chandler line, Dave Weldon Allen married Alice Chandler whose parents were William Pierce Chandler (my gg uncle) and Missouri Vasti Gentry. After William's death Missouri remarried to Robert Robertson and their dtr. Frances Jane Robertson married Marshall Champion Allen. A third son's Labon Pinckney Allen, son Homer Loyd Allen married Josie Sewell a great niece of my ggg grandmother, Matilda Sewell who married Lindsey Chandler.
There are so many females whose last names are not known, that any of them could have been an "Allen".
While I'm at it, can anyone tell me who Champion Allen b. ca. 1833 NC parents or line of ancestry was?In 1880 he was in Rippys, Cleveland County, NC.By 1900 he was in Newsville, Haralson Co. GA.He was married to Sarah Elizabeth (or vice-a-versa)Camp.Can anyone tell me who her parents were? And do they connect anyway with William Camp, Sr and Rebecca Wofford?Or Abisha Camp who married Elsie Allen and also married Sarah Looney?
One of Abisha Camp's son was Robert Melton Camp.I believe there may have been marriages between Camps and Meltons. There are lots of "Meltons" in my Allen line.
Al of the above ancestors came out of VA, NC, SC, and GA.
