John Allen born c1815 NC, to Clay County KY by 1850

Looking for information about John Allen, b c1815 NC, wife Lucinda, b c1815 NC, who came into Clay County KY between 1843-1850, and not found thereafter.Known children were Joseph, b c1835 NC, Hannah, b c1838 NC, Malessa b c1840 NC, and William, b c1843 NC.In 1850 they lived in Clay County KY, next to Jobe Allen, Sr. a grandson of Adoniram Allen, Sr. 1734-1838, and other Allen families who were related.No known relationship to any of them.I am working on the possibility he was a s/o Joseph and Annie [Turner] Allen of Yancey County NC.Joseph & Annie's son, Nathan O. had children named Malissa, william E, and Joseph, which might indicate a relationship.Could John have been the same John I/Y Allen who was in 1840 Yancey County NC?Thanks for any help.
