I haven't found this family yet in the 1900 census, but believe these are the widow and children of David ALLEN of Co. Monaghan, Ireland (see my other ALLEN forum messages).
David Allen could be one of the New York City/Manhattandeaths listed in civil records on www.italiangen.org and ancestry.com -- which show that he could have died as early as 1898 ("David H. Allen," age 30, died 26 Feb. 1898, so was born about 1868) or as late as 1910 ("David Allen," age 52, died Jan. 19, 1910, so was born about 1858) to leave the widowed Elizabeth of the 1910 census. David might also be "David G. Allen," age 50, who died Nov. 9, 1909 (born about 1859) or "David Allen," age 40, who died Dec. 26, 1904.
If you are related to or descended from this Irish-New York family, I would love to hear from you.
