The Summer 2007 issue of ANTIQUES AND FINE ART magazine on p. 41 pictures a portrait in an advertisement of Charles W. Allen, age 9, painted in 1847 by J. G. Chandler, a Connecticut River Valley artist.
This fine portrait should be made known to the Allen family. I am scanning it in case any of the descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the families ought to have it--it is too good to be missed by the family. It may not have extensive genealogy value, but it certainly does have a whole lot of family and historic value.

If it were a portrait of a young Pease family member, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me.
