This may be a stretch, but John Doyle who d. 1825, Warren Co., KY stated in his will that he had a son Allen.Since there doesn't appear to be any Allens in the Doyle Family prior to this son, is it possible that Allen Doyle was named after someone on his Mother's side with a last name of Allen.I have found a son of a Samuel Doyle about the same age groupwho named his son Farmer which wasthe maiden name of Samuel's wife.
Since nothing is known about this John Doyle's wife and Allen's mother, other than she was prob. b. abt. 1760, prob. in NC and d. ca 1806 in Rutherford in NC, it is difficult to even guess her first name.John's wife in his will was at least his 3rd wife, so that is of no help.
Does anyone out there have any "unconnected"Allen females that could be a possibility?
