This posting seems a long time ago.Have gotten alot of new info since I posted this.
The way that I have this family charted is as follows:
Samuel Doyle and Martha Farmer m. in MD prior to moving to NC.Martha Farmer was supposedly the d/o Peter Farmer and Mary Wood of Baltimore. There were other Farmers around in NC and southern VA abt. the same time, but not sure how they are related.
Sons of Samuel Doyle and Martha are: Thomas who left a will in Warren Co.Ky 1806 m. Mehulda Baxter, who m. second Wm. West. in 1809 and moved to MO.
Gregory who d. Edmonson, KY, 1846 and m. Martha Gott. Wit. to the marriage was Thos. Farmer.
Samuel who m. Mahaly Lovelace
Farmer who may have m. Rebecca Coe/Cole.
How this family of Doyles was related to my family is anyone's guess, but Samuel who is your line signed the will of John Doyle in Warren Co., KY in 1825.Perhaps a sister of either John or Samuel m. the other's family member.Since we know the spouses of Thomas, Gregory, Samuel and prob. Farmer, it could be that John Doyle who d. 1825 had married one of their sisters. I'm fairly certain that John and James came from Edgecombe and Halifax NC and before that Richmond Co., VA.
According to what I have which is not proven, Samuel and Mahaley had Althea, Nancy, Matilda, Cecelia, John, James, Issac, Gregory and Thomas.
