Betty you and I tried years ago to make a connection and never did back then.With Allen being such a common name, it's possible that the Benton/Calhoun County AL, Allens are not related to Hiram Allen, but as of now, I don't know.
I do know that Hiram was in Jackson Co. GA for years before moving to first Floyd Co. GA for a short period of time.He was on the 1860 census in Floyd Co. GA, then moving on to Talladega bef. 1862.
There are those 4 sons that I cannot find from his first marriage. They would have been born between 1810-1835 according to the census records.I believe they would have been born closer to 1820 to 1835.
I would like to see your database if you don't mind.I have received information from an Allen researcher on my line, but not sure all of it is correct.Am pretty sure that Hiram does belong to the family, just not sure they gave him to the correct father.
