Hi! I can help with this.Your Benjamin Allen Sr. was found in 1810 in the Buckingham Co, Va census. In the 1820, 1830 & 1840 he is in Humphres Co. TN.Sometime between 1840 and his death in October 1846 he moves to Nashville, Davidson Co. TN.I'm sure this is the same Ben Allen b/c he lists his land in Humphres Co in his will.Yes he is the son of Josiah Allen Jr. and Jennet Etheridge.Here is my (not very good)transcription of the will and census notes.Feel free to contact me if you would like copies of the original will. Will of Benjamin Allen Recorded Oct 20th 1846 I Benjamin Allen do make and publish this as my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time made. 1st I direct that my funerell expenses and all my debts be paid as soon after my death as possible, out of any money that I may be possessed of or may first come into the hands of my executor.Secondly I give and bequeth to my wife Anna a Negro girl name Katharine about eighteen years old also such house hold & kitchen furniture as she may see proper to keep.3rd I give and bequeth to my son Shederich Allen a Negro girl named Neal about eight years old.4th I give and bequeth to my son Samuel M Allen a Negro girl named Barsheba about six years old.5th I give and bequeth to my son David M Allen a Negro girl named Mary about eleven years old, also one bay colt 2 years old.The about colt is not to be accounted for with division of my estate.6th I give and bequeth to my daughter Ann E. Blair and the heirs of her body if any a Negro girl named Sarah about four years old.The use and services of said Negro are to be for Ann E & Wm G. Blair exclusively.Also I give and bequeth to said Wm G. Blair & Ann E. Blair one feather bed, sledd and furniture also one cow and calf also one bay mare.The above bed cow & calf & mare are not to be accounted for in division of my estate.When these articles are asscribed there shall be no construction first on the above clause of this will that they may be received again.The above mentioned Negros to be valued except Catharine by commissioners appointed by the court and said commissioners are to value Huldah.Wm & Harry her two children are about three years old and about two months.If the above Negro woman named Huldah or my executors can get any person to give valuation for her she has a wright to choose her master or mistress as the case may be if she cannot be sold for valuation I direct that executors sell them, all my cattle & perishable property not disposed of otherwise including my real estate lying in Humphres County & on the waters of Little Richland Creek & in the State of Tennessee said property is to be sold on such terms & in such parcels as my executor thinks will be to the intrest of my heirs at sale and the proceeds of my estate including the valuation of my Negros and all other matters to be equally divided among all my lawful heirs ______ Sarah Hendrich, Richard Allen, Elizabeth Dearmore, Shederich M Allen, Samuel M Allen, William W Allen, Wright T Allen heirs there is some notes & apts agains said Wright T Allen's estate that his heirs must receive as money also I make a charge of ninty five dollars two horses give to said Wright T Allen in his life time that said heirs are to apt for with out back intrest said legacy going to Wright's heirs to _____ his five lawfull children is to come into the hands of S.M. & M.S. in trust to educate them & other expenses thatthey may assume or incur. Sarah Hendrich has received one _____ which I make a charge of thirty dollars that she is to receive as so much money.Richard had received one horse worth eighty dollars that he is to receive as money.There is an unsettled matter between me and S. M. & M. S. Allen should I die before we have a settlement I appoint C. McFadden to make a settlement with them for me.Willliam M Allen has recived one horse at fifty dollars that he is to apt for as the rest of the heirs that have charges against them.Rebecca Suitor has received one horse at thirty dollars. Nancy Kirkland has received on bay mare at thirty dollars Tabitha Chitwood has received nothing as extra.All thes charges against my heirs are to be apt for in the way above described by the amounts of Negro the proceeds of all other property including the charges for extras such as charged for to come in to my estate & then all to share equal in value by the heirs receiving that charged against them as money I give & bequeth to my wife Ann two hundred and fifty dollars in money at her death I direct that Catharine & what other property or money she may be possessed of be sold and equally divided among all my lawful heirs. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my sons S.M. and M.S.
