I am a direct descendant of Pascal Allen. He did serve in the NC 58th. He volunteered, enlisting in Marion, NC. He lived in Rutherford Co. He was a farmer. He served until Aug. 31, 1864. As far as I know he was never wounded although he fought at Chattanooga and Chickamauga. His regiment suffered more than their share of wounded and dead there. He was in the CSA hospital in Charlotte for a while after Aug. 31, 1864 with the cause listed as Rhuematism. He was 33 when he enlisted. He was the son of James Allen of Rutherford Co. He had a son named Hil C Allen whose son Onsbey Paschal Allen was with the American Expeditioanry Force in World War 1 and served in the same unit as Alvin York the Medal of Honor winner. Pascal Allen died in 1893.
