I searched somewhat to see if an Adams had married McKensie or McKenzie in Cherokee County, NC, but nothing came up. So don't know if that were his mother's maiden name or another relative. Perhaps these Adams came orginally from Scotland and settled in the Eastern part of NC and then moved west....Lots of Scots in Scotland County, NC and Bladen County, NC area around Cape Fear River.
