BLOOMINGTON — J. Kenneth Allen, 94, of Bloomington, passed away at his residence on October 10. He was born on June 3, 1914, in Homer, IL, to the late Mose and Inez (Zimmerman) Allen.
Following service in the Army during WWII, Kenneth worked for Moon Freight Line, retiring in 1973 after 25 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, VFW, and was also a member of the Local 135 Teamsters Union, and a member of the Moose Lodge. Kenneth and Lou loved to travel.
Kenneth leaves behind his loving wife, Thursa Lou (Edwards) Allen of Bloomington; his daughter Bonnie Allen of Missoula, MT; son Bryce Allen and his wife, Vicki Perry, of Bloomington, and Buddy Allen and his wife, Angie, also of Bloomington. He has 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Francey Kirk.
Graveside services will be held at Valhalla Memory Gardens on Monday, October 13, at 12:00 p.m., where military rites will be conducted. Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
