This is part of my wife,Kitty's, line. Beverly Allen, was the grandfather of the two whom I have mentioned. They were in Forsyth County, Ga. at one point but I have not found a trace of them after that. There were actually three William Allens and none of them kin to each other from what I have found. Beverly of Elbert County, Ga. at one point lived in Franklin County, Ga. -so did the father of Beverly Allen -Kitty's line. Yet there was a third who came from Lancaster County, S.C. ( as did Kitty's line) but and he moved to Lumpkin Co. for a while then moved back to Franklin Co. Beverly Allen was also the name of three Allen's in the area.Beverly, the brother to William of Elbert, shot the first United States Marshall in Augusta,Georgia in 1794 and after being jailed by the law broke out or someone let him go and he fled to Logan and Christian County, KY. He had been one of the first Methodist preachers in the GA. and S.C. area. Simon Peter Cartright a famous Methodist preacher from KY writes about him in his writings. The second Beverly Allen was William Allen's son who was the nephew of Beverly who fled to KY. He was in the Ga. House, I think, and at least served as a Rep. for Elbert CO. and he is buried there in Elbert Co.-Kitty's line is the third Beverly Allen that I have found, not counting his grandchildren, who became Methodist preachers. I also know of some of the Allen line who came into White County, Georgia and settled there. I live in Decatur, Georgia and was given a lot of this info. in the 1970's when they were building the dam in Elberton area. I would love to know how all the Allen family connects up from Franklin and Jackson County as well as Elbert Co. ---if they do connect. The two boys I hope to find will show up sooner or later and I suspect that one moved into Alabama.
