Hello Kim, Thank you for your reply and I will contact you via email. Do you know if the James K. P. COOPER age 55 widower that was living next door to Arthur W. COOPER and Ida (Moody) in the 1900 Marshall Co., AL census, was his full name by any chance James Knox Polk COOPER? The reason I ask this is because our Ydna MOODY family has ties to Pres. James Knox POLK and to Pres. Andrew JACKSON. Jackson and Polk were also best of friends and Polk was often referred to as "Young Hickory" after Pres. Jackson's nickname of "Old Hickory" due to their close friendship. The families are intertwined in marriage etc. and now Ydna and documentation has proven this as well.
Our MOODY family lived in Guilford Co., Stokes Co., Surry Co. and Rowan Co's of North Carolina. They were intermarried with the McQUISTON's (spelled McCuiston in the South), and also the HUTCHINSON's, CRAWFORD's, JACKSON's and others.
This Alexander MOODY, Sr. being in the 1850 Stokes Co., NC census gives me every reason to believe he is a part of our Ydna family. While another branch of our Ydna MOODY family went from Darlington Co., SC to the southern counties of Alabama (down near Dothan), there appears to be a large branch of POSSIBLY our Ydna MOODY's in the Northeastern counties of Alabama as well and those that link to your ALLEN family I do believe could be them.
I am merely trying to Prove it but with great difficulty so far. If by any chance you have any further info regarding your branches (family traditional stories, Any little tid bit at all) that could help, I would be Most greatful. I have nothing further on the ALLEN connection and only ran across this quite by accident. What I have posted here is all that I have on them.
If I can make a tie to these MOODY's (this Alexander being linked to the Guilford Co., NC MOODY clan) then I can tell you a great deal about your Moody family tree. Thank You very much for anything.
