Whislt researching my family's genealogy I have come across a controversey. Around the 1820's there seems to be some dispute. I will post the facts I know for sure to be true, and if anyone could provide some enlightenment, it would be greatly appreciated:
Myself: Mistie Madgeline Moore B: 28 Jul 1978 Crescent City, CA

Son of Rosella M Rennick (one of many wives) B: 4 Mar 1859 Ballard, KY D: 6 May 1899 Scott, MO and Thomas Jefferson Allen B: Apr 1854 Scott, MO D: 7 Dec 1928 Stoddard, MO
Son of John Allen 1823 KY - 1884 MO and Eliza Hayden
This is where the controversy begins... It is speculated that John Allen is the descendant of the Elams of Yorkshire...English nobility.. It is also speculated that Eliza Hayden is the descendant of John Alden, who came to the states on the Mayflower and was a good friend of the Cpt, Miles Standish. There is some dispute as to whether our Eliza Hayden was born in KY or MO.
If you are familiar with this line and have the properly documented parents of John Allen and/or Eliza Hayden, I would be most interested to find out.
