I did not find any information on Leander or Mary Amanda before 1840. And 1850 was the first Census that listed names and ages.Since the Census shows she was b. ohio, they probably married there and chances are her parents lived in Muskingum Co. also. I will go back later and see if there is a Barton where she might fit. Leander was a House Painter--Mary A. Housekeeper. As for their children--I will just give you the information from the Census Records that is pertinent rather than listing all the Census Records. The dates on the records some time vary--so I'll take the one where they first show up.
Frances b. 1836---Not on any other Census after 1850
Susan b. 1838--never married. Was still with parents in 1880. She was a School Teacher.
John b. 1840--he was a salesman.
Edgar b. 1842---He was a Lawyer
Isaac b. 1843--doesn't show on any other Census after 1850
Albert b. 1851 -- He was House Painter. The 1880 Census shows him married --wife's name Lou.
Katie b, 1854--1870 is the last Census she is on and is going to school.
There is a website--USGENWEB that has all the Census records--and it is free.
