Well I'm not sure (yet) of any relation.....There is an Emanuel Allen in Spartanburg SC in the 1840 census - he has 1 male child under 5 and 1 from 5-10 but he is not in Spartanburg 1830 (unless he's living with his wife's grand parents). In 1840 there are no other Allen families close to him (in Cross Anchor) that could be his kinfolk.
I found out that there is an "Equity Court Case" in Chester SC which involves Emanuel, Charity, Barnett and John. There is also 2 E Allens in Chester in 1830 - one of them is too old, but the other is interesting - he's living alone and has no slaves.I do not know what an Equity Court Case is but I've been told that it could hold alot of info.I wrote to a certified genealogist to find this and have not heard back from her.
Another researcher has told me that a John Allen bought land from a Richard Allen in Chester but that it did not appear that the two men were related.
We have joined the Allen yDNA project and this line of the Spartanburg Allens are related to the Grayson Virginia Allens as well as my line in Mars Hill, Madison, NC and two other lines (Haplogroup G).I'm the one who is obsessed with tying these lines together! cheryl
