I am looking for information on Nathan Allen b. abt. 1822 in Kentucky (1880 Census) or Illinois or Virginia, and his wife, Sarah (Canada or Cannaday) b. Jan 1828 in Kentucky. Sarah had a total of 12 children, with 5 listed in the 1880 US Ferderal Census for Union, Pulaski County, Missouri. Those listed are Edmund C. b. abt 1859 in Illinois, Sarah b. abt 1858 in Missouri, G. W. (George Washington) b. 12 Dec 1865 in Missouri, Henry A. b. Jul 1871 in Missouri, and Ulysus b. abt 1870 in Missouri. Although the children are listed as those of Nathan, his birthplace is given as Kentucky in the 1880 Census, the birthplace given for the father of the children is Virginia (likely an error). The Death Certificate for George Washington Allen gives his father as Nathan Allen b. in Illinois and the last name of his mother (Sarah) as Canada. I do not know who Nathan descended from. He died before 1900, likely in Missouri, possibly Pulaski County. His wife, Sarah, and son Henry are residing in the same household in the 1900 US Federal Census for Miller County, Missouri. I have no information on them after that. The only two children I have further information on are Edmund C. Allen who married Sarah Ann Thompson in Miller County, Missouri and George Washington Allen who married Julia Slavens. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?? I appreciate your help.
