Responding to Williams Family Genealogy Forum, Message 31436 Re: West Allen :
Patsy, Frederick Williams of Clouds Creek (listed on the 1790 Edgefield Co, SC, census) had a son William who married Martha Wells.Martha was sister of my husband's ancestor Anna Wells who married John Williams. For years we wondered if Martha's husband William was related to Anna's husband John.Recently a descendant of Frederick was tested and his dna matches my husband's dna.My husband's ancestor John Williams and John's brother Samuel, who was father of West Allen Williams, were related in some way to Frederick Williams of Clouds Creek.
Frederick owned land on West Creek branches of Clouds Creek of Little Saluda River, in today's Leesville, SC.Hollow Creek is nearby. I believe I may have found a plat for your West Allen (spelled "Allin" on the plat). The plat, dated 8 Feb 1790, is for 475 acres on branches of Hollow Creek. The names indexed are Robert Allin, West Allin, and Joseph Williams. http://www.archivesindex.sc.gov/onlinearchives/RecordDetail.aspx?RecordId=192117http://www.archivesindex.sc.gov/onlinearchives/RecordDetail.aspx?RecordId=192117
Other Hollow Creek plats mention Elizabeth Williams, Joseph Williams, and Stephen Williams.Elizabeth may have been the wife/widow of Richard Williams, deceased.See Edgefield Co., SC, Deed Bk 22, p.364-370: Richard Williams and his wife Elizabeth of Orangeburg District convey. Their witnesses are Stephen Williams, Joseph Williams, and Abigail Williams.
Might this have been the Abigail Williams who married West Allen?
