An entry states: Elizabeth Silver b. 14 Jun 1894 parent John Silver and other parent Elder Smithton (Ella?) hard to read) NC Birth Index 1800-2000 Location: Burnsville, NC
Other: Lennie W. Silver 1897 Location: Bald Creekparent: Levi Silverother parent Amanda ALLEN
It seems by following the lines of ancestors backward: Silver was SILBER FROM GERMANY They came to Frederick Co, MD - some went to PA others came south - I suppose on the great Wagon Trail to NC
Ancestry.com: 1880 US Federal census:
Thomas Wilson, farmer age 60 b. @ 1820 NC parents b. NC spouse: Elizabeth b. @ 1828 NC age 52 parents b. NC Location: Coosawatee, Gilmer, GA
so I think that is the correct couple.
Worldconnect.com: Thomas A. Wilson b. @ ;1825 Buncombe Co, NC married Elizabeth Silver on 6 Jan 1853 in Yancey Co, NC Elizabeth was born @ 1830 Buncombe Co, NC
daughter of Thomas Wilson and Elizabeth Silver: Cordelia Wilson b. Aug 1855 Yancey Co, NC
Another such family:

the father: Greenberry Silver b. MD 1795 also seen as "Green Silver"d. 1883 Yancey NC the mother: Malinda Smith b. NC
Lodemia Elizabeth Silver Young is buried in Will Young Cemetery Highway 80 north of Newdale, Yancey Co, NC
There is a picture of the couple on Ancestry.com
I know this Elizabeth is not YOUR Elizabeth who married Thomas Wilson - but they were from the same area - so you might want to check the family of GREENBERRY SILVER - his parents to see if they had a daughter Elizabeth Silver -
Another entry: Elizabeth Silver b. 1824 Burke Co, NCd. 25 Dec 1874 (died Xmas day!) married Samuel Wison on 4 Dec 1844 in Gilmer, GA her father: John Silver (1786-1880) her mother: Mary "Polly" Gregory (1795-1860 )b. NC died Gilmer, GA
These are the Silvers who originally were SILBER from GERMANY so I think all of them in Yancey County probably had that original name.
It seems to have changed to Silver about 1731 - one of the children.
You might want to check parents of John Silver (1786-1880) to see if his parents or siblings had girl Elizabeth Silver in the right time frame.
Because the name was Thomas A. Wilson - that might be a clue. There is an OLD BUNCOMBE COUNTY website that might give you some information on Thomas A. Wilson b. @ 1825 in Buncombe Co, NC
