BoB,
Yes, I agree that is Henry Allen in 1850 census and ages are often not correct in census records. Have not found Ruby yet and her first name may not have been transcibed correctly. I do think she married William Taggert and then a Blake. I have tried looking at All of the Ruby's born ca. 1805 in Addison Co., VT 1850 and will try again as I could have missed her.
I usually copy the families living around a family I am working on in census records. If the census is 1790 to 1840 I will copy ten or twenty families before and after them. I do have old copies of 1840 census of Ferrisburg page 132 there is William Allen, Hiram Curler, Henry Allen with two males under 5 years; John Gregory[he married Obadiah Allen's widow]; Isaac Hatch to name a few. I want to look at that census again as I copied that a long time ago. Henry Allen b.ca. 1815 was married to Matilda by 1840 so would not have been married to Ruby then. Was one of those males your Henry ?
I have not looked for information on Joseph Baldwin and he may not be related and Henry was just working for him.
I always say when you think you have checked all records, you have not ! There are so many ways to find information.
Eva
