Hi Eva,
My Henry was born in 1835, it's possible he was one of the 5 year olds, but if Henry was the son of a Henry, why in both his marriage records does he list Obadiah?
Regarding Ruby, I wonder if perhaps Ruby was her middle name, or her nickname, I've seen that a lot in the records for both men and women.I've been assuming that she's Rubybecause of a death record I've found for a Ruby B. Allen who's father is listed as William Kellogg, but what I can't figure is why would she be Ruby Blake for most of her life and then be listed as Ruby Allen at her death?Ruby Allen nee' Kellogg is in the right place and the right age, but still, why at her death claim the Allen name?
Another possibility is a different Obadiah Allen.I've found 2 who were born in Vermont in 1809 and moved out of state, one to Michigan another to Wisconsin.Could Ruby and Obadiah married then divorced, she marries Taggert or Blake and He moves out of state?
