Gene, Thank you for the reply. That is the information that I find the most. BUT I think there is more out there. According to "THE HISTORY OF ANCIENT WINDSOR, CONN. BY HENRY STILES" page 524 Charles and Elizabeth Allyn had Eliphalet Gilman Born Jan 18 1797. On page 505 Eliphalet Gilman is listed for provision drawing Feb 13, 1813 at Ft Trumbell from Windsor.
Then in "A SUPPLEMENT TO THE HISTORY OF GENEALOGIES OF ANCIENT WINDSOR, CONN" page 24 It has Eliphalet Gilman as married to Hulda Phelps Sept 6 1814 in Windsor.
Charles spelled his name as ALLYN and so did Eliphalet G.
Then there is a grave in Elm Grove Cemetery Windsor Burial is Charles Allyn son of Eliphalet and Hulda Allyn died March 2, 1842 at age 3 yr 10 mo.
Can you see why it is confusing. I would like to find out how and why we are mixing up Eliphalet ALLEN and Eliphalet ALLYN
