Thank you for your reply.Almost all I know about Richard Nun and Robert T.P.'s progenitors is from Oberholzer's book.I feel fortunate he recorded what he did, which probably came from Jay Cooke's children.According to Richard Nun's obituary, from 1899, his parents were natives of County Down, Ireland, and they arrived in Maryland about 1796, which agrees with Oberholzer. In 1987, my father found fragments of Robert T.P's obituary pasted to an old wooden box.It was written by his nephew, Richard Nun's son, for a Bates County, Missouri newspaper (possibly the BUTLER WEEKLY TIMES). Someday I must make a trip to the area and see if I can make copies from the original newspapers stories. In my research I was able to find much written about Robert in various books and articles. Unfortunately this only took me up to about 1866. Sometime, if it's not too difficult, I would like to read your thesis. One interesting thing I learned about Robert was he established the post office at Marysville CA.Coincidently, my last military assignment was at the air base there - but I didn't know the connection then.I can be reach by e-mail at either firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
