Louisa Emeigh was the first of two wives of George Beardsley Allen b.19 Sep 1829 in New Bedford.MA. He was the youngest of 9 children, the only one to be born in US. All others were born in England. George and Louisa had 3 children that I know of- George I., Julia Matilda and John Benjamin. All I know about John Benjamin is that in 1905 at the time of his father's death, he was living in Fort Erie, Ont. George Beardsley Allen died 28 May 1905 in Buffalo and was buried in Elmlawn Cemetary. Following are my notes on George: "will-Erie Cty Surr Ct#25811 dated 28 Feb 1898- buried in same grave with George W. Bass, also in plot are Elizabeth K. Bass and Farnsworth Bass will-to son George I. Allen-$1"limited...for reasons not necessary to here explain.";to daughter Julia Matilda $1(no reason stated);to son John B.$1-"His business entanglements have cost me all I wish to let him have." Stepson-George W. Wood-gold watch and chain; rest(385.38) to wife Mary K. Allen;executors-Charles W. Wall, James C. Beecher debts- Undertaker-$150 ElmLawn Cem-for lot-$15, digging-$3 James C. Beecher-probate of will,etc-25.35 Dr Charles A Wall-Med services-$115.00 Dr Chalmers-Med Services-$2.00 total estate-$1500, no real property" Georges 3 sisters who came to Buffalo are all buried in Forest Lawn in contiguous plots. There was obviously some kind of falling out. George's parents were Job Allen (21 May 1782-14 Jun 1845) and Elizabeth Beardsley (8 Aug 1786-19 Nov 1862). Job died in Utica and is buried in Forest Hill Cemetary. Elizabeth Beardsley Allen is buried in section H in Forest Lawn in Buffalo in one of her daughter's plots- Mary Ann Allen Holloway (m. Isaac Holloway). Another sister Matilda, married Isaac Holloway's older brother John (who died in 1853 at the age of 35, leaving her with 6 kids). A third sister Alice married David Wall. All of the Holloways and Allens seem to have been in the stone business in some way, even in England before emigrating.
