Your Fanny is apparently the niece of my Lucy (McGregor?) McNeal Walling. Her grandmother gave her a deed of gift of all her property before she died.Daniel McNeal witnessed that deed.Later Michael Walling, second husband of Lucy, was paying taxes in Fanny's behalf.Hezekiah Pruitt lived very close to Michael Walling. He witnessed Michael Walling's will.
Fanny's grandmother was Frances "Fanny" McGregor Villetoe (This can be spelled many ways.) Her deed of gift also mentioned Michael Box who, if I recall correctly, was later filing for a lottery in behalf of the children.
I assume that Fanny's mother had died before 1799 when James McGregor, son of Frances, left a will naming Frances Villetoe and sisters Sallie Morgan and Lucy McNeal.
I tend to jump to the conclusion that Sallie and Lucy had McGregor for a maiden name. Since finding information on the deed of gift I tend to do the same for your Fanny's mother. Of course it is also possible that Frances McGregor Villetoe was married more than twice.I'll be glad to give you my sources.Frankly, I would be delighted to have someone else join the chase.
