I agree. There is evidence that shows conflicting information on Samuel of Braintree as one shows the connection to my James Allen (first son) and the other does not.Land Records from Windsor, CT. have Samuel Allen in January 27, 1640 granted six acres and Vital records shows his deathon April 28, 1648 in S.Windsor. His wife as listed in the Genealogy of Samuel Allen of Windsor Connecticut by Willard Allen, Boston 1876, is Ann (unknown) Allen who remarried to William Hurlburt in Northhampton, Mass. That matches up with most of my information on Samuel. Also the same book lists this Samuel Allen as from "Braintree, Essex County England. The other Samuel Allen on one document I have his father as "George" Allen from Weymouth, Dorest, England and mother as Katherine Stark. (not to mention that I also have a Reginald Allen (as Samuel Allens father) around the same age of George Allen with a wife named Katherine "Starke".)This Samuel has a date of death as August 26, 1671. Who do you have listed as Samuel (d.1671) wifes name and fathers name.Do you have a "James" Allen listed as one of his children? Do you have the vital records of Mass. on his marriage?Which Samuel Allen is "Deacon" Samuel Allen who came over as part of the Mr. Hookers Company? As you, I also appreciate any new information.I have about 5inches of conflicting information now and several books written in the 1800's that also conflict. My line down from James Allen is concise, but this Samuel Allen keeps me busy.
