I have been corresponding with Jan in our search for Susan Alley. What we do know for sure is that a Susan Alley was married to William Henry Sparks. They were married feb 8, 1877 in Johnson county. We have found information from a 1880 census for Johnson County. We believe their names were mispelled. They were Hill H Sparhs and Susan Sparhs. They had two young sons Andrew and William T(later discovered William Turner. In that same census, their neighbors were listed as David Alley, wife children and his younger sister Mary Alley. And Other Alleys listed as well. So next I checked the 1870 census and shows David, Mary and Susan Alley being the children of Rebecca and Turner Alley.Obviously she names her son William T. after her husband and father Turner Alley.I also found that Turner Alley had a Brother Simeon Alley who married Edith Sturgil. They too had a daughter born with the name Susan Alley, but she married a man with the last name Compton. This susan alley was born approz 1859 and my susan was born approx 1851.We have always been told that my great grandmother Armilda Sparks was two weeks old when susan was gathering eggs and got bitten by a rattle snake and died.My great grand mother was born in aug of 1892, but I always find that susan died in 1890 which isnt possible. We would like to find information about her and to figure out this mystery.
