Hello Allgoods. I have an Allgood in my family line that I simply cannot get past to move on in my research. Coincidently, she married a Denning who I also cannot get past. I am really stuck and would greatly appreciate ANY help at all!!!
My Allgood is:
Margaret Allgood, b. abt. 1850, we think in Clark Co. Ohio. (I only know of her from the death certificate of her son, William, which lists her name.) She married Hugh Denning b. in Ireland abt. 1850
Their children were: 1.)Mary Denning b. abt 1882 2.)Henry Denning b. abt 1883 3.)William Joseph Denning (my Great Grandfather) b. Oct. 23, 1885 in Clark Co. Ohiod. Jan. 2, 1919 in London, Madison Co. Ohio. buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery, London Madison Co. Ohio. 4.)John Denning b. abt 1888 5.)Joseph Denning b. abt. 1889 (It's hard to believe that they would name two sons so similarly, yet I found in William's obituary, mention that his brother "Joe Denning" came from Oklahoma to be with William and arrived 2 days before he died to be at his side, so it's true.)
I cannot find out who Margaret's parents were, and I cannot find Hugh's parents either. I did find info that Hugh Denning was listed in the 1890 census of Madison Co. Ohio. It gave me the page # and everything, but when I went there ... he was NOT listed on that page or anywhere else that I could find!!-???-
It is possible that my Margaret Allgood's family originated in NC. --- A friend sent me this info ... which COULD be my Margaret and her parents, but I cannot confirm it: Margaret Allgood born in the late 1840s with parents Robert C. Allgood (b.1811 NC), and Hannah Buckhannon (b.1817 IN). The possible NC connection makes me wonder if my Allgood line could have been Alligoods at one time?
If anyone knows anything about my Margaret Allgood or Hugh Denning.... or any info on this Robert C. Allgood and Hannah Buckhannon in NC -- I sure would be extremely grateful!!!!
I will post this info in the ALLgood forum too.
Thanks in advance for your time! I am really stuck! ~Janeen
